The first day was good because her client not only paid her well but also gave her food. She went home with five hundred shillings and this motivated her and the following night she went back to the streets.
Lucy was now getting used to the job and she would negotiate payment, with her clients without the help of her friend. She says that the job was challenging and many are the t inners that she was beaten by her clients who refused to pay her but die to poverty she would still go back there.
One Night she met a client who offered to pay her one thousand shillings if she slept with him the whole night. She agreed however after they went to the hotel room things changed. The man insisted on sleeping with her without protection and when she refused he abused her.
He also called his friend and the two raped and tore her clothes. They also abused her and left her Uncouncious. Her friends noticed. That she had not returned and after checking on her they found her lying on the floor.
“They not only raped me but also abused me physically.” Lucy says.
They took her to hospital and she was given medication however two weeks later she realized that she was pregnant. This broke her hurt and she sunk into depression. Lucy was so stressed that she decoded to take her own life.
She says that as she planned to take her life she thought of her children and changed her mind. She went back to washing people’s clothes until she gave birth. After giving birth she went back into her washing clothes for people and it’s been hard for her to take care of her children.
