Wike: Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Warns Lamido, Babangida, Other PDP Leaders Against Divisive Statements
Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and former Vice President of Nigeria, Atiku Abubakar has called on all stakeholders of the PDP and his supporters to desist from making statements that are capable of compromising the on-going work towards further strengthening the party and bringing all its leaders together.
The former Vice President made the call in a statement to Daily trust signed by his Media Adviser, Paul Ibe in Abuja on Thursday.
“It has become imperative to appeal to all party members, leaders, and anyone related to, connected with, or associated with the presidential candidate of the PDP, Atiku Abubakar, to desist from making comments that potentially harm the PDP’s perception as a unified political party,” the statement reads.
This appeal is required to alert party leaders and members of the ruling APC’s distracting behavior, which tries to mislead the Nigerian public into ignoring the massive failings of the ruling party by creating the appearance of internal conflict inside the PDP.
According to Atiku, the expectation of the populace that the PDP will lead the charge in overthrowing the incumbent party is the reason the APC is uneasy about their coming defeat in the general election of next year.
He charged that the ruling APC had manipulated politics to sow discord within the PDP.
“The APC has chosen to play the devil’s advocate, regaling in celebration of their fictitious invincibility upon a fake allegation that the PDP is divided, because they know they have nothing to campaign on based on their records of performance in office.
Because of this, he made an appeal to “any true PDP member and anyone who truly wishes the PDP presidential candidate success to not fall for the theatrics of the APC in making utterances that could support the bogus notion of splits in the PDP.”
Nyesom Wike, the governor of Rivers State, and the other PDP governors, according to Atiku, are all united in their desire to see the PDP triumph in all spheres of the upcoming general election
