2023 Presidency: Why I Am Not Bothered About Bola Tinubu’s Visit To Obasanjo’s House – Bode George, has come out to share his thoughts
Amid reports that All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential flag bearer, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu held a closed-door meeting with ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Bode George, has come out to share his thoughts on the development.
Recall that on Wednesday, August 17, 2022, news filtered into town indicating that Asiwaju had visited the former president at his home in Ota, Ogun State, where both men held a closed-door meeting. It is being speculated that the former Lagos governor’s discussion with OBJ might be connected to the upcoming 2023 presidential elections.
Reacting to the development while appearing on CHANNELS TV’s ‘Politics Today’, Chief Bode George waved away the possibility of Obasanjo endorsing Tinubu’s presidential candidacy as a result of the closed-door meeting between both men.
Speaking during the interview, the PDP chieftain revealed that he is not bothered by Asiwaju’s visit to Obasanjo because he knows that the former president will tell his guest the truth without mincing words.
“Baba Obasanjo remains an enigma and an icon, his doors must, therefore, remain open to all Nigerians. But I can confidently tell you that where truth matters on the issues of the nation, he will not bend any rules to make sure he tells truth to power.
Whatever Tinubu is looking for in Baba’s house I have no idea. But I can tell you that where the truth will be told, he (OBJ) will not mince words. As a leader, icon, and father, Obasanjo must open his doors to all kinds of characters to visit him and listen to his words of wisdom. So I have no qualms about that,” Chief George said
