I singlehandedly rescued the 7 Abducted Victims, Our Soldiers Tried To Claim Credit, But I Thwarted Their Efforts -Mallam Tukur Mamu
Recall that on March 22, 2022, an unidentified number of passengers were kidnapped after terrorists believed to be members of ISWAP attacked an Abuja-Kaduna train in Katari, Kaduna State. Some of the abducted victims have been released, and just yesterday, seven of them regained freedom and have reunited with their family.
The publisher of Kaduna-based Desert Herald Newspapers, Mallam Tukur Mamu said he was the one who singlehandedly rescued the 7 abducted victims and that when they were released, the military tried to claim credit for their freedom. Tukur Mamu said he did everything he could to make sure they don’t take the credit.
One of the released victim who is the son of the Northern Elders Forum (NEF) convener, Sadiq Ango Abdullahi said they insisted that they must go with Tukur Mamu after they were rescued by him, and this made the soldiers to hand them over to Tukur Mamu. He said almost all the rescue job was done by him and it will be unfair if the military claims credit for their freedom.
He said Tukur Mamu didn’t only secure their rescue, he also contacted their family members to come pick them
