We Can’t Campaign For A Man Who Promised To Unite Nigerians But Can’t Unite PDP members that he Abandoned after he failed 2015 election Members -Jonah Jang
Earlier yesterday, we reported that the executive governor of Benue State, Governor Ortom stated that a committee consisting of 17 members was set up by Atiku Abubakar to appoint his running mate and 14 out of the 17 members voted for Governor Wike of Rivers State, but Atiku Abubakar picked Governor Ifeanyi Okowa instead. There is no doubt that this has led to some “heat-up” argument among members of the party and the Former Governor of Plateau State, Senator Johan Jang has given his view on the crisis currently rocking the party.
According to Johan Jang, selection of Governor Okowa aggrieved some party members who felt that their effort geared towards selecting Atiku’s running mate was in futility, and that the party treated Wike badly, a man who is said has been the pillar of PDP at the time when APC tried to silence the voice of the party.
Johan Hang said it was unfair to have treated a high ranking member of the party in such a manner, and that if the party doesn’t correct the mistake on ground, the party might be caught in the trap set for itself.
Speaking on Atiku Abubakar’s candidacy, Johan Jang said part of his campaign promise is to unite Nigerians irrespective of their religion, ethnicity or tribe. Johan Jang said with the recent happenings in the party, they cannot campaign for the party’s presidential candidate who promised to unite Nigerians but cannot bring his party members together.
