Disquiet In Ihedioha’s Camp, As Senator Anyanwu Gets PDP National Assignment
There is disquiet in the camp of former Governor of Imo State, Emeka Ihedioha and his bunch of loyalists in Imo PDP over the decision of the party to appoint Senator Samuel Anyanwu, Sam Daddy as Secretary of Edo State Congress Committee.
Senator Anyanwu who represented Owerri zone at the Senate had lost the PDP governorship primary to Ihedioha.
The duo are at logger heads after Anyanwu went up to the Supreme Court to challenge Ihedioha’s emergence as governorship candidate of the party.
The recent appointment handed to Anyanwu by the national leadership of the party has made nonsense of some insinuations in some quarters that the Senator has been overrun in Imo PDP by forces loyal to Ihedioha.
The senator had complained over the manner ward and local government congresses were held in the PDP in Imo State wherein only loyalist’s close of Ihedioha made the cut.
The senator is said to have severally complained over this development.
Reliable sources said Ihedioha and Senator Anyanwu are “politically incompatible” because the duo seem to be nursing secret ambitions to vie for governorship in 2023 on the platform of the PDP.
Senator Anyanwu’s recent call to duty by the national leadership of the PDP signposts the fact that he is indeed still recognized as a party leader in the State and an asset to the party at the national level, which no one can wish away.
