Neymar & PSG players mock Haaland trademark celebration in UCL win
Neymar and PSG have mocked Erling Haaland’s goal celebration after they qualified for Champions League quarter-finals with a 3-2 aggregate win over Borussia Dortmund.
In the first leg at Signal Iduna Park, Haaland scored a brace and celebrated the second goal by sitting down in a meditation pose on the field.
When Neymar found the net in the 28th minute of the second leg, the Brazil international enjoyed the moment by imitating Haaland’s celebration on the sideline after embracing his team-mates.
The entire PSG team followed suit with the trolling post-match, when they were seen posing for a group photo while using Haaland’s meditation pose.
The match was played behind closed doors at Parc des Princes because of measures put in place to contain the spread of coronavirus, however thousands of fans gathered outside the venue and were heard to be singing throughout the 90 minutes.
Neymar’s diving header got PSG off to the best possible start before the home side turned the tie further in their favour on the stroke of half-time when Juan Bernat diverted home.
Dortmund toiled to claw their way back into proceedings, but their frustrations were compounded in the closing stages as Emre Can saw red for becoming embroiled in an off-field scuffle.
PSG have now qualified for the Champions League final eight for the first time in four years, having succumbed to turnaround defeats to Barcelona and Manchester United in two of the last three campaigns.
The Parisians are runaway leaders in Ligue 1, holding a 12-point advantage with a game in hand over second-placed Marseille.
Their next league game will come against Nice on Sunday, with the game also to be played behind closed doors because of the coronavirus issue.
In France, all Ligue 1 and Ligue 2 games will be played without spectators until April 15.
