Man City 2-2 Palace: Aguero past 250 goals for City but own goal from Fernandinho gave Palace a draw.
Crystal Palace snatched a 2-2 draw in a dramatic finale against Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium, where Sergio Aguero brought up another goalscoring landmark.
On-loan Everton striker Cenk Tosun headed a 39th-minute opener for the visitors, who looked like holding out for three points until Aguero slid home Gabriel Jesus’ 82nd-minute cross.
That was Aguero’s 250th goal in City colours and his pinpoint header from Benjamin Mendy’s cross five minutes later seemingly settled the issue.
De Bruyne’s long shot wide out
City are on the attack again and this time Mendy squares the ball to De Bruyne on the edge of the box. He curls his shot around the defender but sends his effort wide of the near post.
CLOSE! De Bruyne hits the beam
De Bruyne steps up to take the free-kick Aguero won and he curls his effort over the wall, aiming for the top-left corner. Guaita is beaten, but luckily for him, it rebounds back off the crossbar.
Aguero’s shot stopped by Guaita
Palace don’t get their lines clear following the free-kick and De Bruyne picks out Aguero at the far post. Guaita is quickly off his line to close him down and makes a good save as he blocks the effort.
GOAL! Man City 0-1 Crystal Palace (Tosun)
It’s completely against the run of play, but it’s a great corner that’s headed down by Cahill to Tosun at the near post. He’s left unmarked and gets his first goal for Palace as he heads it under Ederson. 1-0 Palace!
CLOSE! Ederson denies Tosun’s effort
It’s another quick break by Palace a McCarthy curls his cross into Tosun between two defenders. His first touch brings it down brilliantly before he fires his shot towards goal and Ederson gets two hands to it to push it away from goal.
CHANCE! Jesus’ shot wide out
Jesus plays a one-two with Sterling to get himself in more space and tries to go for goal from a tight angle on the right. It’s a poor effort from him though as he slices at the shot and sends it into the side netting.
GOAL! Man City 1-1 Crystal Palace (Aguero)
None of the Palace defenders pick up Aguero’s run down the middle as he waits for Jesus to put his cross into the middle. Cahill misses it ahead of him and he slides in to poke it into the back of the net. 1-1!
GOAL! Man City 2-1 Crystal Palace (Aguero)
Yet again, nobody is picking up Aguero in the middle of the box and he has a free header as he rises in the middle to nod Mendy’s cross into the ground and past Guaita to give his side the lead. 2-1 City!
OWN GOAL! Man City 2-2 Crystal Palace (Fernandinho)
Zaha makes a driving run through City’s half of the field and Rodri and Stones just can’t get the ball off him. He squares the ball into the six-yard box from the byline and it hits Fernandinho as he’s getting back into position which takes it over the line. 2-2!
