GOAL! Chelsea 1-0 Nottingham Forest (Hudson-Odoi)

The home side pass the ball around the field under little pressure and it is worked to Hudson-Odoi on the right side of the box. He brings it inside and catches out Smith at his near post. Far too easy!

Christensen’s long shot wide out

Christensen opts to have a go but is off target with his attempt.

VAR cancelled refrees’ penalty decision due to offside

Mighten, easily Forest’s best player so far, is slipped in down the right and barged off the ball by Tomori. The referee Peter Bankes points to the spot, but it will go to a VAR check as Mighten may have been offside.

After a lengthy VAR check, the penalty is not given as Mighten’s knee is adjudged to have been offside. That is a big let-off for Chelsea!

GOAL! Chelsea 2-0 Nottingham Forest (Barkley)

Hudson-Odoi cuts in from the right, just like he did for his opening goal, but Smith manages to make the save on this occasion. The ball drops nicely for Barkley to convert, though, and the Blues now have some breathing space.

CLOSE! Barkley hits the post

Barkley directs Hudson-Odoi’s cross towards the bottom corner with his header from 10 yards. Smith gets his fingertips to it and the ball comes back off the post.

OFFSIDE! Yates’ goal disallowed

Yates nods in Carvalho’s free-kick but the goal is ruled out before the celebrations can begin. It goes to a VAR check and the initial decision for offside stands – that was very tight!
