NICE TRY! Alzate’s shot saved by Gazzaniga

OFFSIDE! Kane’s goal disallowed

Kane latches on to a ball over the top from Winks and dispatches a strike on his left foot past the onrushing Ryan with ease. However, VAR takes a look at his run and finds that the England forward is a fraction offside as he collects the pass from his team-mate. Relief for Brighton.

GOAL! Tottenham 0-1 Brighton (Webster)

The visitors take the lead as Webster rises to power a header home from close range. Gross puts his delivery on the money from the free-kick – right into a dangerous area in the six-yard box. Webster attacks the ball to beat Alderweireld in their aerial duel before directing his header past Gazzaniga.

GOAL! Tottenham 1-1 Brighton (Kane)

Tottenham need inspiration or luck to get back in the game. They get a bit of both as their captain levels the scores. Lucas’ driving run at the Brighton defence sees the ball deflect into the path of the forward. He surges into the left inside channel and fires at goal. Ryan gets down to make a good save, but it bounces straight back to the forward, who makes no mistake with his second effort, dispatching a half-volley into the bottom-left corner.

GOAL! Tottenham 2-1 Brighton (Alli)

Tottenham take the lead through a special finish from Alli. Eriksen begins the move with a cross-field pass to Aurier in the right inside channel. He works the ball back to Alli first time in the air. The midfielder takes on the strike and he hooks his effort over the top of Ryan and into the left side of the net. Clinical from Alli.
