Barack Obama, former US president, and Michelle, his wife, have shared memories of their furniture building project for kids in a Malaysian school.
Two years after the Obamas handed over the United States’ presidential seat to Donald Trump, the duo have had a penchant for engaging the public on social media and during special functions.
Obama took to his Instagram page to treat the public to a photo of him and Michelle making furniture for school children in Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia, alongside the “Obama Foundation Leaders.”
“Last week, Michelle and I had a chance to join the Obama Foundation Leaders for an afternoon of community service in Kuala Lumpur,” he wrote in the post, admitting that Michelle is better at handling tools than himself.
“Together, we built furniture for local schools in need of some refurbishing. It was inspiring to see these emerging young leaders so motivated to help those in need—and a reminder that Michelle is much better with power tools than I am.”
In August, Obama had released a 44-track playlist containing a slew of songs he dubbed their favourite for the 2019 summer.
The list included Rema’s much-acclaimed song ‘Iron Man’.
Obama also made his Hollywood debutalongside Michelle, having played a major role in a “compelling and timely” documentary set in industrial Ohio
