Karim Benzema maintained his impressive form with two first-half goals as Real Madrid eased to a 4-0 win at Eibar

Karim Benzema has overtaken Ferenc Puskas in Real Madrid’s all-time scoring charts in LaLiga.

The Frenchman stretched to slot home Los Blancos’ first goal at Eibar on Saturday evening to reach another milestone for the club.

His first goal meant he overtook Puskas’ total of 156 league

Madrid suffered a 3-0 reverse on their last visit to Ipurua 12 months ago but were comfortable winners in Saturday’s clash thanks to the impressive form of Benzema, who made it nine league goals for the season.

The 31-year-old gave the visitors a 17th-minute lead and doubled his tally from the penalty spot before the half-hour mark after Sergio Ramos had also converted from 12 yards.

Federico Valverde added a fourth for Zinedine Zidane’s men, who climbed above Barcelona and surprise package Real Sociedad into top spot.

Two in three minutes for Madrid, Ramos converts from the spot! The captain steps up, pauses, and passes the ball into the bottom-left corner with the keeper going the other way.

GOOALL! 3-0 Madrid, Benzema steps up and gets his second goal of the night. It’s exactly the same as Ramos’ spot-kick, he sidefoots into the bottom-left corner with Dmitrovic going the other way. Madrid are rampant.

4-0 Madrid, Valderde caps a great performance with a goal! Benzema finds Mendy on the left and though he overhits his cross, it drops to Modric at the other side of the area. Modric plays it back to Valverde just inside the D, and he opens his body up to side-foot right-footed into the bottom-right corner. Lovely stuff.
