Ahead Of Brazil Friendly,Onuachu Sends Warning To Osimhen with 4 Goals In 4 Games

The Nigeria international who has struggled for regular playing time at the club following his arrival from Danish outfit, FC Midtjylland played himself into the hearts of Genk supporters after his introduction for Ianis Hagi on the hour mark.

Onuachu equalised for Genk in the 75th minute, cancelling out Jonas Osabutey’s opener for Mouscron.

The 25-year-old then netted the winning goal for the hosts eight minutes into stoppage time.

Genk of Belgium forward Paul Onuachu has settled down properly in is new surrounding at Belgium side Genk following his summer transfer from Danish side FC Midtjylland.

Onuachu scored a late brace to hand Genk a comeback 2-1 win over Mouscron to take his season tally for Genk to four goals in the last four games he has played and also his fifth goal in all competitions since his move.

Fans of Genk have already taken to the beanpole striker as one of their own owing to his goal return, something the 25 year old hope to replicate for the senior national team of Nigeria when they play Brazil on the 13th of October in Singapore.

He has found himself in direct competition with red hot Lille striker Victor Osimhen who he was ahead of during the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations but now has to play second fiddle to the 20 year old who scored his first international goal in the 2-2 friendly draw against Ukraine.

” It’s good for the team to have two players who can help the team with goals. Osimhen is my brother and his progress delights me as well. If the coach picks us to play together then that’s fine and if otherwise whoever gets the nod will have our support as a team. I am confident of challenging for a starting spot”,
